Do you have a lived experience of disability, and/or care for someone who does? Do you want to get your voice heard on issues affecting you in Brighton and Hove? Then Get Involved with the GIG!
The Get Involved Group (GIG) is a user-led group which brings together Brighton and Hove residents with a lived experience of disability to share experiences, meet each other, and have their voices heard on the issues that directly affect them. We identify issues and help plan the solutions. Carers, personal assistants, families and friends are also welcome.
We meet every six weeks in Central Brighton to discuss topics chosen by the group, including welfare reform, getting out and about, accessible venues, mental health issues, sport and leisure, NHS services, disability awareness, and so much more! We also keep you up to date via email, telephone and post and we send a monthly round-up newsletter to keep you in the loop with what is going on in Brighton and Hove for disabled people. Everyone has a voice and we want to ensure you get heard!
