08.11.17 – Disability Hate Crime

TOPIC:                       Disability Hate Crime – why report it?

DATE/TIME:              Wednesday 8 November, 2pm – 4.30pm

VENUE:                     Friend’s Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton, BN1 1AF

At this month’s meet-up, we discussed what barriers people feel prevent them from reporting disability hate crime.  How supported and confident do you feel in reporting an incident, and what would you expect to happen with your complaint when logged with the local police?

We’re lucky to have speaker Gareth Morgan from the Crown Prosecution Service, specialising in dealing with hate crime incidents across Sussex.  We also had a short talk from the NHS Oral Health Team, with a Q and A session on where to find an accessible dentist, and how make oral health services more accessible for everyone.
