27.09.2017 – Social Isolation and Disabled People

This meeting’s topic was social isolation and disabled people.  Our GIG members voted on which topics were most important to them to be focussed on at the GIG, and the top response was social isolation.

During this meeting, we invited GIG members to discuss in workshops the following questions:

  • What barriers do disabled people face that lead to isolation?
  • If there was a cohort of volunteers how would you use them to support disabled people out of isolation?

We invited any GIG members to discuss with the GIG team following the meeting if anyone would like to follow up on this topic and help develop the ideas by becoming a Go-To Person on the topic.
