Health and Wellbeing – 20.01.16

Health and Wellbeing

Wednesday 20 January, 2pm – 5pm

The Friend’s Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton, BN1 1AF

H and W

During this meeting, we heard about different ways in which people with long-term health conditions, disabled people, and carers can improve their health and wellbeing.

There was  information on how to eat healthily on a budget, provided by Brighton and Hove Food Partnership, a talk from speaker Fran Taylor from Albion in the Community’s free alternative weight management service for those who are less able to access the other community based services.  Our own GIG staff member, Abbie, provided a free Mindfulness session and we will have lots of information and discussions on the barriers disabled people face when getting out and about, and what activities and services are available in your community.  Darren from Brighton and Hove Healthwalks also gave a talk about the accessible healthwalks that are available and how to get involved!
