Our March meeting was on the topic of:
Social Care Packages / Getting Out & About
Wednesday 1 March 2017, 2pm – 5pm
Friend’s Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton, BN1 1AF
From our last Open Space meeting, the most common concern faced by local disabled people was the process of accessing social care packages, how the process works, and what issues people face when accessing social care services. Martin Farrelly, General Manger of Health and Adult Social Care, answered the group’s questions on the panel process of receiving social care packages.
The second half of the meeting looked at how disabled people could be better supported to get out and about, what activities and services are available and where the gaps are. How do you want to spend your care package allowance? What would help you with your health condition and support you to get out across the city?
